Bonjour! Je m'appelle Aurélie et j'ai 20 ans. I figure that I should tell you a little bit about myself. I am a very artsy person, and I just love the arts in general! I have been taking ballet classes since age 4, and I am now en pointe. I would love to dance professionally someday as part of the Opéra Nationale de Paris. If that doesn't happen, I could always turn to one of my other favorite hobbies- playing the flute. I've been playing flute since I was seven, and I haven't regretted my decision to do so. It is when I'm dancing or playing the flute that I seem to "come alive". I'm a very shy, quiet person who prefers to keep to herself, but for some reason, I love the feeling I get when performing! It's like I'm not alone anymore. I just wish I'd feel this way about presenting things in front of the class. My quietness seems to be genetic; my parents are the quiet type as well.

If I don’t dance professionally (or after I do), I would love to be an English teacher. I love learning the language, and practice and bettering my skills are things I hope to gain from blogging. I love working with children—probably because I’m an only child—plus school is something I’ve had to work at. I’m definitely not academically gifted; I’m what one would call average. However, I won’t settle for average, and I don’t like to. That is why I push myself in school and study hard, and I do that with my ballet classes and private flute lessons as well. I don’t like to give up.

I also ADORE fashion, clothes, and shopping. I definitely consider clothes to be a work of art, and I enjoy creating new outfit combinations. I dream of having my own fashion line, too.

Another side hobby of mine is photography, though I'm not that great at it. I like to pretend that my friends are models and take pictures of them in their most stylish outfits.

I also like movies and music. I love Édith Piaf and think she is one of the greatest women in French history. I also love Marion Cotillard, who played Édith in the movie La Môme. People say I look like her, and I think that's a great compliment!

I may seem like I have everything, but I don't. What I want the most is a sister. If I had one, I don't think I'd be as lonely and quiet as I am. 

My best friend is Sabine, who is like a sister to me. She knows everything about me, and I know everything about her. Sabine would argue that I'm not quiet once you get to know me!
