Les Vacances 2019: New-York!

Salut, tout le monde! C'est Sabine!

Before leaving the United States, I met my friend Sam in New York City for the first stop on her press tour. We had a pretty busy two days. When we got off the train, we had to cross the turmoil that is Times Square to get to the hotel.

You can't walk through Times Square without stopping at the Disney Store, right?

Frozen is my favorite Disney movie, and Anna is my favorite princess. I got to see this show on Broadway, which may have been better than the movie. I posed outside of the theatre for a photo while it was still daylight.

After changing our clothes at the hotel, our first stop (despite the heat) was Brooklyn Bridge Park. I had to introduce Sam to my favorite spot in the city!

Our next stop was the American Girl store, where we had hair appointments. We got the same style to keep our hair looking nice for the long flight that was ahead of us. Here's the before pic:

...and here we are after!

We then took a scenic walk to our next location...

Our next stop? A cute, Victorian-themed tea room!

The second day, we had a flight to catch in the evening! Final NYC destination? LaGuardia Airport.

Where did we land? I'll update you in a few days.

National Museum of the United States Air Force

Salut, tout le monde! C'est Sabine, et j'arrive avec mes aventures!

It's no secret that my life has been busy. Between studying abroad, my summer travels, school, and my relationship with Julien, I haven't had time to update with my adventures. However, I want to get back into blogging again and get caught up!

As you may know from my previous post, I spent a semester studying abroad in the United States alongside Éléonore, a somewhat-friend I've had since I was a kid. Before we returned home in July, we thought we'd do some traveling in the US, and those travels included visiting some friends and meeting up at the National Museum of the United States Air Force! We saw some pretty cool stuff. Here we are with our friends:

(from left to right: Éléonore, me, Taylor, Màiri, and Rhona)

Of course, we did a lot of posing by planes:

Here we are by a piece of the actual Berlin Wall!

Part of the sign was in French, so I had to pose by it:

This is the closest Éléonore and I will get to the cockpit of a plane! We like traveling cheaply which means economy seats.

I took some photos of Scottish twins Màiri and Rhona by the cockpit, too:

After the visit to the museum, we had some fun with outdoor photography. Here are some of the photos of Rhona:

I also had to take some shots of Màiri and Rhona together!

I also took some photos of my friends Taylor, Cécile, and Felicity:

It was then my turn to step in front of the camera!

That was only the beginning of our adventures. Stay turned to our final stop in the US...

Bisous,
Sabine

Ma Vie aux Etats-Unis: NYC

Salut, tout le monde! C'est Sabine!

I promised I'd be back to blogging more frequently again, but life had other plans. I don't even know where to begin, so I guess I'll start with January of this year.

In January, I embarked on a new journey. I am currently studying abroad at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Ava, one of my American friends I met during the summer program that I do, goes there. Lilly, my best American friend, is a little bitter that I didn't choose to study abroad at her school. The truth was, Lilly can be too much. I'm not sure I could handle her and her best friend Erica for a whole semester.

Ava has been awesome so far, but it's only been a month. She picked me up from the airport in her shiny, black BMW convertible that Lilly cannot get over. I arrived a few days before my program officially began, so I stayed at Ava's home in Mooresville before we drove to Wake Forest. Ava's house is huge. I have no other way to describe it other than a mansion on the lake. I almost got lost finding my way to the kitchen from the guest room in which I stayed! Lilly wants me to sneak some pictures for her, but I feel creepy--like I'm violating Ava's space--by doing that.

Wake Forest has been good so far. I'm staying with a host family, and they seem nice enough. They took me to Cook-Out, which Lilly desperately wanted me to try because it was her "favorite restaurant" when she visited Ava. It was good, but it was just another fast food joint.

Aside from classes and the typical, I had a long weekend and decided to visit my brother, who lives in NYC. While he was at work, I did some exploring of my own. It was freezing, but I managed to have a wonderful time.

I had to revisit Brooklyn Bridge Park. I wasn't happy with my photography from the summer, so I wanted to retake some skyline photos.

I even posed for a few myself, even though I prefer to be behind the camera!

I then headed back to Manhattan to do some shopping. It was nice being in warm stores after being out in the cold.

I met up with Inky! We got crepes for breakfast and then took some photos in Washington Square Park.

My trip was a fun little break from reality, but now, I have to focus on adjusting to the American education system, which I may make a little rant post about.
